I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Allie, otherwise known as “The Formula Fairy.” My mission is to educate, support, and empower formula feeding mothers and to crush the rampant stigma around formula feeding.
When it comes to breastfeeding, there’s many resources available. There’s seemingly endless support, guidance, information and encouragement. But when we formula feed, most of us are just sent home with a brand new baby and a random tub of formula and told “good luck.” Then we find ourselves totally clueless and overwhelmed about everything- which type do I choose? Are generic formulas ok? What the heck is ready to feed, do I have to use it? How do I know if my baby has an intolerance or allergy? How do I safely prepare it- do I need to boil and sanitize? I’ve talked to countless moms as I’ve researched infant nutrition and formula and nearly every one of us was given little to no help with feeding our babies formula. It can make formula feeding overwhelming, stressful, and intimidating- which is the last thing we want to be feeling when we’re already dealing with the stress of having a newborn.
I was unbelievably disappointed both by the lack of support and information I received as a formula feeding mom and by the judgement and stigma surrounding the decision to use formula. So I became inspired to be that formula feeding support person I didn’t have. I decided to learn all things formula, did extensive independent research, followed other infant feeding specialists to gain knowledge, and then became a Certified Infant Feeding Technician. For the last 6 months I’ve been working hard to educate, support and empower formula feeding mothers and it’s very meaningful, important work to me.
My job is to help mothers on their formula feeding journeys in ways I wasn’t helped with my own. I am here to provide safe, accurate, reliable information on choosing a formula, formula safety and preparation, etc. If you’ve been struggling to find formula feeding support- look no further!
